I’m a big fan.
I find myself besotted by words, stories and ideas and the inexplicable power they hold over us. I have a bucket list of books, films and albums I stash away like a rainy day fund. It seems to be a symptom of the human condition to look up to others: to admire and to mimic. Even the most established and inspiring beings in history felt out of reach of the greatness of those who inspired them. That is why I happily describe myself as ‘a big fan’. I am both bewildered and encouraged by the trail left by every storyteller that has paved the world as I see it before me.
